The project stemmed from the overwhelming, colorful, overdone concert flyers and posters produced all over in LA. I wanted to do the same but in a way to give value to the use of typography as both image and text. We live in the marketing explosion era where thousands of ads are continuously infiltrating our visual space. Clients always have and want as much content as possible on their marketing collaterals. Unfortunately concert poster, flyers and billboards suffer from ill design syndrome. The use of strong silhouettes only work for high profile individuals; individuals like Daddy Yankee who are easily distinguishable by their iconic attributes.
